About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Teacher Half-Yearly Journal, published since 1993 by Mahendra Ratna Campus, Tahachal, Kathmandu, is a multi-disciplinary journal that aims at strengthening the motivation of university faculty and administrative personnel for continuously engaging themselves in research, writing and publication, and, thereby, contributing to their professional development and consequently to the academic milieu of the university academia. As a standardized annual publication that includes the articles both in English and Nepali, it publishes quality papers that undergo essentially a meticulous double-blind peer-review process. The editorial board is comprised of the experts from different departments so as to oversee the overall quality of the papers submitted from different contents areas.

The journal accepts original and scholarly papers from the authors of all the institutions of higher education in Nepal. In general, it expects authors to maintain the quality standards as set by Tribhuvan University Grants Commission, and, in particular, the “author guidelines” set by the editorial team of the journal. Authors can submit the papers both in Nepali and English and meet the approximate length of 3000 to 5000 words. The papers should follow the APA (7th edition) format.

Peer Review Policies

The peer-review system entails firstly the preliminary desk review in which the editorial board members review the papers submitted and hand over the comments and suggestions to the respective authors. When the revised papers are obtained from the authors, the desk review team studies the revisions made by the respective authors and decides on sending the papers to the concerned experts. Secondly, the papers sent to the experts, when obtained back, are again sent to the respective authors for revisions. As the revised papers are obtained, the editorial team again decides on forwarding or not forwarding the papers for publication. Thus, essentially, the review involves the double-blind review process. Note that the experts are provided with the review guidelines as well as the author guidelines prepared by the editorial team. Basically, two reviewers are involved in the review process of each paper and it takes about one week for the desk review and a fortnight for the experts. All rights to publication remain with the editorial board. (Note: The author guidelines and Reviewer Instructions are attached herewith.)
