About the Journal
Focus and Scope
SCHOLARS: Journal of Arts & Humanities is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. Indexted in NepJOL, star-ranked in JPPS and preserved in Portico (a permanent digital archive), the journal is published both in print and online twice a year. The focus of the journal is to provide a platform for national and international researchers/ scholars to publish and share their research outcomes that explore the topics from a broad array of academic disciplines of arts and humanities, including but not limited to language, literature, culture, music and visual arts.
The journal encourages submissions of research outcomes that discuss current changes and innovations within the knowledge of research, theory and practice. It aims to reach a wide global community of scholars who aspire to share their research experiences.
Manuscript Review Process
The journal has a rigorous review process for its quality publication. After the manuscripts are submitted for consideration for publication, each manuscript has to go through several stages: initial screening, peer review, editorial review and proofreading.
At first, all submissions will be screened by a plagiarism detection software for similarity check and then by a panel of editors to confirm that the manuscripts are according to the format of the journal and fall under that academic areasa of the journal. Only manuscripts that meet these requirements will go through the blinded peer reviewers. Each author will incorporate the feedback given by the peer reviewers in the revised manuscript.
Each revised manuscript will be reviewed by a panel of editors for quality check. The manuscripts can be rejected in this stage as well. When the manuscripts go through the editorial reviews, they are proofread by the desk editors and the concerned authors for final publication.
Frequency of Publication
The journal is published bi-annually in February and August of each year.
Digital Preservation
This journal is permanently preserved in Portico, which is a digital archive. This is a dard archive, which is maitained by ITHAKA.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Source of Support
The journal is published by the Central Department of English, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Nepal which is a fully government institution. So all expenses for review of papers, website, hard copy publication and other expenses are born by the institution.
