One Health Journal of Nepal publishes articles on research in the field of biomedical sciences, encompassing all disciplines of medicine, medical education and public health as well as ethical and social concerns associated with health. Public health, clinical, environmental and animal studies are given priority in the journal. Original research papers, case studies and systematic reviews will be published in the journal and will be peer-reviewed. Editorial, Guest Editorial, Viewpoint and a letter to the editor are all examples of editorials.
OHJN is published biannually.
OHJN provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
The articles in the journal are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. OJHN allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles and allow readers to use them for any other lawful purpose, as long as the author and journal are properly credited, which ensures maximum dissemination and a wider impact of our publications.
OJHN does not charge any fees for submission, article processing, publication and to read. The priority will be given to the scientifically conducted research by developing countries authors to help their work visible to the scientific communities.
The manuscripts are then sent to two expert peer reviewers blinded to the contributor’s identity and vice versa for meticulous review, inputs and comments. The final decision on whether to accept or reject the article are taken by the Editor-in-Chief based on editorial board and peer reviewers. The contributors are informed about the rejection/acceptance of the manuscript with the peer reviewer’s comments. Accepted articles have to be resubmitted after making the necessary changes or clarifying questions made during the peer review process. The accepted articles are edited for grammatical, punctuation, print style and format errors and page proofs and are sent to the corresponding author who should return them within three days. Non-response to galley proof may result in the delay of publication or even rejection of the article.
We require the authors, peer reviewers, editors and editorial staff to disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to articles and the publishing process. We request authors to users the Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form prepared by ICMJE which is a Uniform Disclosure Form for Potential Conflicts of Interest as a means of promoting a standardised approach to such declarations. OJHN is the first medical journal and the pioneer in Nepal to introduce the submission of an "Ethical Approval Letter" for all research article submitted to OJHN. Maintaining research integrity is shared responsibilities among readers, researchers, authors, peer reviewers and editors. We take great care to make sure that each research article has maintained such integrity.
However, if you suspect any misconduct in our published articles, please report to us. OJHN reserve the right to investigate misconduct in any suspected article submitted or published in the OJHN. We will collaborate and communicate with relevant and concerned authority to maintain ethics in research and publication.
