About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Nepal Medical College Journal (NMCJ) is a biannual Scientific Medical Journal published in English by Nepal Medical College in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Journal is printed in two-column format.
Subjects covered include all aspects of health and diseases including clinical and experimental studies and medical education (in the form of original full papers, short communications, critical reviews, editorial commentaries, conference summaries and book reviews).
Peer Review Process
After the manuscript is received, it is seen by editor(s) (usually takes 1 to 2 weeks) (and if there are some areas for improvement to fulfil the editorial criteria, authors are informed accordingly). If the manuscript is in given format and is interesting, then the manuscript will be sent for peer review following a double blind system. The review process usually takes 4 weeks plus-minus one week (the peer reviewer(s) will be provided with the manuscript, editorial policy and referee’s report form through the email).
Upon receipt of comments from reviewer(s), actions are taken accordingly (accept as such, accept after minor changes, accept after major changes, re-write or reject).
Once the manuscript satisfies the editing and peer review criteria, it goes in queue for the print in forthcoming issues of the journal. Then page-set up of manuscript is done and the PDF version of same is provided to author(s) for very minor correction, if any, along with the request for payment of page charge.
Once everything is finished, Journal is printed and the printed version is uploaded online in the college's website. NMCJ is published quarterly (4 times in a year: March, June, September and December). After the submission date of a manuscript we aim to publish the received article within 6 months.
