The Nepalese Journal of Public Affairs aims to focus at advancing science and the art of public policy, governance and public affairs. It seeks to do so by fostering and sharing knowledge and experiences among academics, practitioners, and researchers and students of administrative sciences. This journal will address the common issues, which its audience at different levels is facing the world over. Its central theme is the continuing need to improve both efficiency and effectiveness in a situation of scarce resources and rising public expectations, especially of service quality. The journal will cover theories, concepts, methods and practical experiences, which have a bearing on how these issues, can best be managed.
NJPA is useful to students of public administration, political science, management, economics, sociology, international relations and others. It is hoped that this journal serves as a forum for exploration and dissemination of ideas and issues on various dimensions of public sector governance and policy particularly those studies based on empirical evidence and experience. We encourage articles that are original, analytical and argumentative to bring forth discussions and debates on existing political, administrative and social issues. We also encourage studies that highlight cross-country and regional analysis. We accept articles from all over the world.
NJPA publishes two issues a year.
NJPA provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Articles published in NJPA are published under a CC-BY Attribution 4.0 International Licence. This license enables reusers to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, so long as attribution is given to the creator. The license allows for commercial use.
Primarily, each paper is reviewed by the editor(s) and, if it is judged suitable for this publication, it is then sent to two referees for double blind peer review. Based on their recommendations, the editor then decides whether the paper should be accepted as it is, revised or rejected. The journal is also checked for plagiarism before it is published.
