About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Mathematics Education Forum Chitwan (MEFC) is a peer-reviewed journal of mathematics education and mathematics published annually by the Council for Mathematics Education, Chitwan branch. The main purpose of the journal is to provide the forum for scholarly discourses on the related field that intends to contribute to mathematical knowledge and knowledge building process as well. In doing so, the MEFC publishes original research papers and other theoretical/philosophical papers, which have sound academic values that contribute to bringing positive and perspectival changes.
MEFC aims to transform our conventional mathematics education practices into more inclusive and authentic one so that mathematics becomes more evocative and illuminating discipline rather than as an accumulation of mathematical facts, concepts and theorems. For this, the Journal helps to explore the creative and imaginative works of practitioners by promoting reading, writing, learning, researching and sharing cultures. MEFC also promotes local cosmological knowledge systems and offers the researchers to develop eagle's eye views by comparing and constricting our mathematics education practices among other countries through a critical lens. Moreover, the journal orients to foster a holistic perspective in mathematics education practices that certainly open a new avenue in mathematical discourses that bridge up local, ethnical, regional, national and international contexts.
The authors will contribute the following themes:

Peer Review Process
We will accept an original research paper for publication in our journal once it has been through the double blind review process. The review process is as follows:
First of all, editorial board codes the article so that the reviewers will not recognize the author names and affiliation institutions to avoid the biasness in the review process. Then the article is sent to two reviewers simultaneous for the review process. It will take approximately one and half months. After receiving the paper from the reviewers it will be sent for the recommended correction to the authors who need to make the changes within 20 days. Finally, the decision will be made by the editorial board. It takes approximately six months for publication after receiving the articles.
