Peer Review Process

The Journal of Tilottama uses a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and fairness of the research it publishes. After the editor performs an initial scrutiny to ensure the manuscript meets the journal's guidelines, two or more anonymous reviewers are assigned to assess the paper's originality, significance, methodology, results, and conclusions. The reviewers may recommend that the manuscript be accepted, rejected, or revised and resubmitted. Based on their reports, the editor makes a decision, and if revisions are requested, the authors are given the opportunity to address the concerns.

If the manuscript is accepted, the editor will notify the authors and arrange for publication. The double-blind process helps to minimize bias and ensure that manuscripts are evaluated based on their merit alone, which can be challenging to implement, especially for small journals.

Step 1: Initial Scrutiny
The editor receives a manuscript and performs an initial scrutiny to check that it meets the Journal's submission guidelines and scope. If the manuscript meets these criteria, the editor will proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Assignment of Reviewers
The editor will assign two or more reviewers to the manuscript. The reviewers are experts in the field of the manuscript and are selected based on their expertise and availability. The reviewers are not known to the authors and vice versa.

Step 3: Review of the Manuscript
The reviewers will independently review the manuscript and provide a written report to the editor. The report will assess the manuscript's originality, significance, methodology, results, and conclusions. The reviewers will also provide recommendations on whether the manuscript should be accepted, rejected, or revised and resubmitted.

Step 4: Editor's Decision
The editor will consider the reviewers' reports and make a decision on the manuscript. The editor may accept the manuscript, reject it, or request that the authors revise and resubmit it. If the editor requests revisions, the authors will be given the opportunity to address the reviewers' concerns.

Step 5: Revised Manuscript
If the authors are requested to revise their manuscript, they will submit a revised version to the editor. The editor will then send the revised manuscript to the original reviewers for their assessment. The reviewers will provide a new report to the editor, and the editor will make a final decision on the manuscript.

Step 6: Acceptance and Publication
If the manuscript is accepted, the editor will notify the authors and arrange for publication. The manuscript will be published in the Journal of Tilottama and will be made available to the public.
