About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Janaki Medical college Journal of Medical sciences (JMCJMS) with ISSN number 2091-2242 (Print) and 2091-2358 (Online), established in 2013 AD, is a Peer-reviewed biannual journal published by Janaki Medical College affiliated to the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University and is accredited by Nepal Medical Council, Nepal Nursing Council, and the Ministry of Education of Nepal. It is being published triannually starting in 2022 AD. The first issue will be Jan-April Issue (No. 1) which will come by March/April of every year; second issue will be May-August Issue (No. 2) which will come out by July/August of every year and the third issue will be - Sept-Dec Issue (No. 3) which will come out by December of each year.
Scope and Coverage:
It covers research articles, review articles, short communications, Case Reports, Letters to Editor etc. related to basic and clinical medical sciences, dental sciences, health issues, policies, medical education, medical humanities, medical ethics, obituaries, innovations corner, commentaries and other related articles in the field of medicine, nursing and health sciences.
Readership
Medical and paramedical sciences faculties, academicians, doctors, consultants, related medical persons, researchers, government officials and health policy makers, students, and other individuals interested in the health and medical sciences researches.
Editorial independence
The JMCJMS editorial board is devoted to maintaining editorial independence and works hard to prevent this principle due to conflicting interests, fear, or any other corporate, business, financial, or political influence. JMCJMS believes editorial decisions on individual manuscripts should to be founded on both academic excellence and the potential significance of the work to the medical and health sciences communities that the journal serves.
Academic freedom
Our main purpose is to promote academic discourse by means of the quality, its scope, and diversity of our publications. The JMCJMS editorial board is dedicated to upholding academic freedom. JMCJMS welcomes respectful scholarly analysis and discourse, and do not publish work that directly or intentionally incites violence, racism or other forms of discrimination and hatred. Everything JMCJMS publish is validated through a rigorous peer review process including oversight by the Academic Publishing Committee.
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism is an ethical misconduct affecting the quality, readability, and trustworthiness of scholarly publications. Improving researcher awareness of plagiarism of words, ideas, and graphics is essential for avoiding unacceptable writing practices. The editorial board of JMCJMS strictly follows the definition of piracy and plagiarism as defined by the Council of Science Editors (CSE) related violations of publication ethics with unauthorized reproduction of ideas, data, methods, and graphical materials, including those of the plagiarist (self-plagiarism and duplicate publication). Common instances of plagiarism such as direct (verbatim) copying, paraphragiarism, text recycling, translational plagiarism, plagiarism of graphics, plagiarism with citation manipulation and compound plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Authors should be very careful that their manuscript is free of plagiarism during submission of manuscript, otherwise it may lead to the rejection of manuscript.
Publication Frequency
This was a biannual publication. It will be triannual journal from 2022. There will be three issue in a year from 2022. Our team is trying our best to take out 4 issue a year very soon.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Publication Ethics
Janaki Medical College Journal of Medical Sciences follows the guidelines and policies established by the Council of Science Editors, the Committee on Publication Ethics, and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors regarding research and publication ethics in addressing the concerns raised by the readers.
The editorial board, reviewers, and authors put in an incredible effort to ensure that medications, dosage instructions, and therapies are accurate in the published materials which meet the standards of academic publishing at the time of publication. However, readers must use their own discretion when making clinical decisions and, if needed, consult and compare information from other sources due to the constantly changing nature of the field, reasonable differences in opinion among authorities, the particulars of each clinical situation, and the possibility of human error in preparing such an extensive text.
Journal Disclaimer
Manuscripts, or the essence of their content, must be previously unpublished and should not be under simultaneous consideration by another journal. The editors, editorial board, and publisher disclaim any responsibility or liability or any type of juridical claims for published materials.
