With one exception, a fauna known to be collected by someone else, illustrated reports of fossils by V.J. Gupta from the Palaeozoic to Pleistocene of Nepal are stratigraphically bizarre, cannot be replicated, and should therefore be ignored in stratigraphic syntheses. All Gupta identifications lacking illustrations are also best disregarded.
